The House

Designed tolive outside.

Living space opening onto the deck
Living room with glass walls

Warm wood, matte black steel and tall glass. Every terrace-facing door in the living room and kitchen opens fully, bringing the interiors and covered deck together as one flowing space. From the kitchen island — with its leather bar stools — it is a few steps through the glass to the barbecue deck: the grill, the counter and the long table all share the same air. Beneath high timber ceilings, light, fresh air and the surrounding greenery become part of everyday life.

The covered deck is the heart of YU. Its barbecue area — grill, counter with sink, beverage refrigerator and a dispenser of hot and cold water — connects directly with the indoor kitchen and living room: with the doors open, cooking, gathering and dining unfold in one continuous space. A long table seats everyone together, while a smaller table with four chairs waits in the shade for coffee, a card game or a slow lunch.
